JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Hunters checked more than 35,000 turkeys during Missouri's turkey hunting season this spring.
Missouri Department of Conservation Spokesperson Joe Jerek told KXCV/KRNW that the turkey hunting season came with an increase in birds harvested.
The increase came even as non-resident permit sales were down. The state saw close to 10,000 more spring turkey hunters this year than it did in 2019 due to an increase in resident permit sales.
